Montego Bay City Run Scholarship Fund Assists Students in the West

The students collected cheques on behalf of their schools at the MoBay City Run Scholarship presentation, which was held at Sandals Montego Bay in St. James on Wednesday (September 19).

Four tertiary institutions, one secondary school and students in Montego Bay, St. James, have been offered scholarships and donations amounting to $4.5 million, through the Montego Bay City Run Scholarship Fund.

A sum of $1.3 million has been disbursed to the University of the West Indies, Western Jamaica Campus; $700,000 to the Montego Bay Community College; $700,000 to the University of Technology, Western Campus, and $200,000 to Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College.

Mt. Alvernia High School has received $500,000, which will go towards the school’s building fund.

The remaining $1.1 million has been given as scholarships to individual students attending high schools.....
